I hope you had a great weekend – It was crazy around the Fargo Moorhead area this weekend with the running of the Fargo Marathon. We’ve finally had a few days in a row peaking above 70 with sun, of which, always helps beer sales.
This week I wanted to touch base on a program that I’d love to see as many accounts as possible support because it’s for such a great cause. The name of the program is “Pour One Forward” from Samuel Adams. How does the program work? It’s simple buy a keg of Samuel Adams Boston Lager and let the Pour One Forward program sell it for you while donating to a great cause! This program would be excellent for Growler stations as well “Pour a Growler Forward” – you’ll make a Veteran’s day for sure with a full growler of Boston Lager.

At Samuel Adams we show our gratitude to one another for a job well done with a cold beer and a heartfelt “thank you.” Starting today, we’re partnering with local bars and restaurants to salute our military friends who protect our freedom and independence every day through a program called Pour One Forward.
Between now and July 5, at participating locations, you can purchase two Samuel Adams Boston Lagers and leave one behind to be enjoyed by an active duty soldier or vet. You simply tell your server you’d like to “Pour One Forward” and he or she will give you a paper pint glass to write a note of thanks or special shout out to your favorite soldier or our military at large. Your server will hang it on the wall and when a soldier or vet comes in to that bar or restaurant, they can pull it down and exchange it for a cold pint of Boston Lager
And here at Sam Adams, we also want to help! If you post a picture of your thank you note and tag it #PourOneForward, Sam Adams will donate $1 to the nonprofit American Dream U to help soldiers find jobs they are really passionate about or start their own business as they transition from active duty to civilian life.
We recently learned that in the last 5 years, more than one million young soldiers returned to civilian life in search of fulfilling careers they are passionate about; and 50% said that the transition was much more difficult that imagined. Inspired by our core philanthropic program, Brewing the American Dream, which helps small business owners start, strengthen and grow their craft food and beverage businesses, we wanted to connect soldiers with that same kind of inspiration and support.
Every day, countless men and women put their early career aspirations aside to defend the values that define our country. We hope you’ll salute and thank them in the best of ways! Last week we lost Prince, an American Icon from the home state of Minnesota. Prince, put Minnesota on the World map through his musical talents and generosity to everyone. I thought it only fitting to focus on the Minnesota craft brands that we carry in house this week.
We are fortunate that the Minnesota breweries we carry in house have received many accolades nationally and internationally. These breweries are world recognized for their own style of artistic craft (Craft Beer). Minnesota Craft Beer Week is right around the corner May 9-15, 2016.
