The Wait is Over….. Grain Belt BLU Blueberry Lager has arrived to our market!!! We’ve had people asking when this beer would be back since the day we sold out last year. It was a huge hit the last two years and we expect the same results this year. This year Grain Belt BLU is available in 2/12/12oz Cans for the very first time and again on draught.

Grain Belt BLU, a summery spin on the iconic “Friendly Beer,” combines Grain Belt Premium with a generous load of real blueberries. It would be a mistake, however, to associate the beer with a sweet, syrupy blueberry pie dessert. On the contrary, Grain Belt Blu is light, balanced, and refreshing—a delightfully subtle twist on the classic American lager.

Grain Belt BLU

BEER STYLE: American Lager with Real Blueberry Juice

ALCOHOL BY VOLUME: 4.7%

CHARACTERISTICS: Purple in color, as the real blueberry juice takes charge. A light malt flavor with a balanced blueberry sweetness puts a delightful twist on the classic Premium lager.

Same brand. New look.

Excerpt from Fargo Brewing Company News Release:

Fargo Brewing strives to bring our fans well-crafted, consistent beers. Today, we are proud to announce an update to our classic packaging and brand representation. This rebrand represents over a year’s worth of work with Fargo natives and microbrew brand developers Chalk.

The new branding reflects a more modern and modest approach to packaging and will allow us to provide canned options for limited release beers. Our new branding also reflects changes to our updated website at www.fargobrewing.com, which will include new functionality, such as a beer locator, content from Fargo Brewing tagged Instagram posts, and an updated events page.

“It was our goal to create a strategy where we could affordably offer a more diverse family of products to markets that previously couldn’t get them,” said Aaron Hill, co-founder of Fargo Brewing Company. “Now we can offer small-batch and limited release beers to retail locations throughout our territory and potentially introduce new audiences to local craft beer.”

The new can artwork will prominently feature the Fargo Brewing Company word mark with maximum size and contrast; a stark visual aid for fans seeking out their favorite Fargo beer. Below the word mark, each brand will include the state of North Dakota, in a unique color, with the Fargo Brewing Company logo radiating from the brewery’s geographical location.

“We were humbled our home town’s brewery gave us the opportunity to really tackle a strategy from the ground up,” said Matt Charpentier, co-founder of Chalk. “Together, we were able to create a solution we believe will be great for both the brewery and consumer.”

About Fargo Brewing Company Fargo Brewing Company is North Dakota’s largest and oldest operating brewery. It was founded in 2010 by Jared Hardy, Aaron Hill, Chris Anderson, and John Anderson. Driven by a desire to bring craft beer to North Dakota, the Fargo natives used their experiences in the Pacific Northwest to launch the company. Fargo Brewing currently distributes beer throughout all of North Dakota, South Dakota, and portions of Minnesota and Wisconsin.

GERMAN CRAFT IS OUR FAMILY TRADITION

We are a family owned and operated brewery in New Ulm, Minnesota. Our story began in 1860 when August Schell, a German immigrant, couldn’t find a traditional German beer in his new home. So, he made his own.

He laid the first brick to the Schell’s brewery along the banks of the Cottonwood River, where it still is today.

While the brewery has seen some changes, like plumbing, August’s legacy of being an innovative brewmaster remains. It has continued through six generations and over 100 varieties of German Craft beer.

It’s that time of year – The NCAA basketball tournament is here, the Arnold Palmer Invitational was this last weekend, The Master’s Golf Tournament is just a few weeks and more importantly warmer weather is coming soon.  In fact, the first official day of Spring is tomorrow. Unfortunately, I think most of us will be shoveling. With the warmer weather comes the opening of golf courses and patios for the summer season.

This week I wanted to highlight our brands that come in aluminum cans and bottles. All of these packages are great options for the golf courses, patios, beaches, camping and fishing.  I also wanted to highlight Arnold Palmer Spiked, a brand new item to us at Bergseth Bros.

We won’t get into the great debate over cans vs. bottles; what’s a better package for beer? (maybe that’s a future newsletter) Today we thank, the aluminum packages because of them, we can enjoy the greatest beverage on Earth almost anywhere we travel.

The lists below contain general information regarding many of the brands that we carry at Bergseth Bros. We have more brands that are not on the lists below, so make sure to check with your Bergseth Bros. sales rep for a complete listing of brands.

Please check with your sales person on availability and pricing (please note some products are not available in certain markets)

Hello Everyone,

One of my favorite Holidays is just around the corner on March 17th – St. Patrick’s Day!

St. Patrick’s Day is celebrated every year on March 17th, honoring the Irish patron saint, St. Patrick. The celebrations are largely Irish culture themed and typically consist of wearing green, parades, and plenty of drinking. Some churches may hold religious services and many schools and offices close in Suffolk County, the area containing Boston and its suburbs.

People all over the world celebrate St. Patrick’s Day, especially places with large Irish-American communities. Feasting on the day features traditional Irish food, including corned beef, corned cabbage, coffee, soda bread, potatoes, and shepherd’s pie. Many celebrations also hold an Irish breakfast of sausage, black and white pudding, fried eggs, and fried tomatoes.

It’s the one day that friends and family can gather around raise their pint of Guinness and celebrate their Irish heritage; most out celebrating don’t have a lick of Irish in them but enjoy the festive atmosphere….. It’s a good excuse to raise a pint!

Bergseth Bros. is your Irish Beer Headquarters with iconic brands such as Guinness, Harp, Smithwick’s, and Murphy’s. Bergseth Bros. also carries Guinness Rye, Guinness Antwerpen, Guinness Nitro IPA, Guinness Blonde, Kilkenny, Finnegans and Killians Red.

I’ve included some videos of the assorted Guinness Brands available and a Guinness stew recipe perfect for St. Patrick’s Day.
